Used in combination with the 3Com Wireless Switch Manager, the 3Com WX2200 Wireless LAN controller can centrally manage up to 192 3Com wireless LAN Managed Access Points using local or external RADIUS authentication. With only a few keystrokes, administrators can change parameters for multiple managed access points, eliminating the time-consuming task of individually configuring each device, and providing simple setup.

Innovative Identity-Based Networking services based on user identity instead of ports or devices, allows uninterrupted roaming and wireless voice over IP.

Centralized security management features include Mobility Domain architecture, allowing controllers and switches to share databases, adding a new level of user and group access control to network resources. Sharing user-specific security policies between WLAN controllers and switches can result in a consistent enforcement of user and group attributes across the WLAN as the user roams.
