The NetVanta 3000 Series offers a single slot that will house both the Network Interface Module (NIM) and the Dial Backup Interface Module (DIM) together. The DIM is a plug-on module to the NIM, which prevents downtime by dialing around a failed primary circuit, guaranteeing bandwidth for mission-critical applications.

The NetVanta ISDN BRI DIM provides dial backup access to the public switched telephone network (PSTN) via ISDN BRI interface at rates of 64 Kbps or 128 Kbps.
