The ADTRAN Total Access OPTI-T200 is an evolutionary descendant of ADTRAN's Total Access OPTI-3. The OPTI-T200 is optimized for applications requiring a single DS3 over fiber transport and utilizes a T200 form factor for mounting in type 200 or type 400 shelves. The ADTRAN OPTI-T200 transforms standard single OC-3 optical signals from the network to a single DS3-level signal at customer premises or Remote Terminal (RT) locations and utilizes SONET transport. The OPTI-T200 occupies standard slots in type 200 or type 400 shelves. The unit requires only a fraction of the footprint normally needed for optical deployments. OAM&P is supported via both TL-1 and SNMP and the unit is fully programmable. The OPTI-T200 is designed for double ended (OPTI-T200 to OPTI-T200), nonredundant operation. To maximize the cost savings inherent in a T200 design, the OPTI-T200 does not provide the software necessary for interoperability with industry-standard SONET ADMs or redundancy. If these features are desired, ADTRAN recommends the Total Access OPTI-3 for delivery of three DS3 circuits from a single OC-3 with full redundancy and interoperability.
