SteelGate is a high-performance Firewall + VPN Appliance that delivers unrivalled security and services in a tightly integrated hardware package.
SteelGate incorporates the BorderWare Firewall Server, which is the most highly certified firewall in the world, according to Common Criteria, having achieved EAL4+ with EAL5 Vulnerability Analysis.
The BorderWare Firewall Server has been protecting major installations worldwide since 1995. With a hardened operating system, strong defaults and a full complement of security defenses, it delivers superior protection for networks.
SteelGate provides a wide range of pre-defined proxies (HTTP, SQL, PPTP, etc.) that support the required Internet services but, being proxied, implement superior protection to packet - filters and lower-level traffic controls. For flexibility, SteelGate also provides the option of using stateful inspection instead of the proxies; this supports special needs and internal firewall requirements. SteelGate supports up to 500, 000 concurrent sessions and throughput up to 500 Mbps.
SteelGate Firewall + VPN Appliances can be deployed in clusters that support automatic fail-over in the event of a hardware fault.
SteelGate fully integrates an advanced IPSec VPN server, delivering a secure platform for all remote access requirements. Compatible with other IPSec implementations, popular PKI products and strong authentication tokens, the IPSec server is easily deployed for full server-server and client-server VPN connectivity.
The IPSec VPN client runs on all Windows workstations, includes firewall capability and NAT traversal for use behind other NAT devices. SteelGate is managed using a Windows based GUI client. With intuitive controls and wizards, configuring and maintaining SteelGate is within the reach of the non-technical user. Two or more systems can be managed from the same interface, with synchronized settings for policy-based configuration.
SteelGate includes the InsideOut Reporter. InsideOut reads SteelGate logs and can develop real-time or historic reports of all activity through the firewall. Ideal for monitoring user activity, it can also be used to diagnose network issues.
