Foundry Networks' second generation 10 Gigabit Ethernet modules are designed to deliver 20Gbps of wire-speed performance while doubling the density and optimizing serviceability. Foundry Networks offers industry's first two-port 10 Gigabit Ethernet card with next generation optics based on Xenpak transceivers. Xenpak transceivers offer hot-swappable (GBIC-Like) functionality for optimal serviceability, better sparing and network operations, reducing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). Single-slot line card design is used efficient, high-density 10GbE solutions. Install up to 28 10GbE modules in a single 15-slot chassis. Based on the industry's most flexible and cost-effective architecture, the 10 Gigabit Ethernet modules support all of Foundry's award-winning IronWare switching and routing capabilities. These include wire-speed, hardware based Layer 2 switching, IP and IPX-based Layer 3 routing, Access Control Lists (ACLs) and extended ACLs, traffic classification, prioritization, and marking, as well as support for jumbo frames.
