The CFC series provides clean and reliable conversion between multi-mode and single-mode fiber at 10 Mbps, 100 Mbps and 155 Mbps (OC-3) data rates. Pairs of CFCs may be used to link stations using alternate (Token Ring or FDDI) protocols. LFS allows rapid recovery of switch/server links if the primary connection fails.

The CFC series uses 110/220 VAC auto-sensing power supplies that can be connected redundantly. Modular card versions of CFC are available for the CCM-1600 and CCN-2000 rack chassis.
