With modules for 10/100Mbps copper, 100Mbps fiber and Gigabit, the DES-6500 series represents a cost efficient and flexible Layer 3 solution with up to 192 10/100Mbps TP ports, 96 100Mbps fiber ports or 96 Gigabit ports. The switch supports multilayer ACL (Access Control List), IEEE 802.1p traffic priority, IEEE 802.1Q VLAN tagging, SNMP, RMON, IGMP snooping, port mirroring, enhanced security and performance with IP-routing (Layer 3) including RIP I/II, OSPF and multi-netting, VLAN packet switching (Layer 2) and Quality of Service with bandwidth control. CLI- or web-based configuration. 160Gbps backplane speed and 142Mbps IP-forwarding rate.
