Eaton's Environment Sensor addresses the growing need for network managers to tightly monitor the temperature of their IT equipment to prevent overheating. This sensor is a small device that can be installed anywhere within the rack cabinet to remotely supervise both temperature level and humidity rate. In addition, the Environment Sensor boasts 2 input contacts for additional supervision needs like door opening, genset start-up and more.

Remote supervision is achieved from any web browser or SNMP-based NMS (Network Management System).

Alarm thresholds are set through the web interface of the Network Management Card. Various automatic actions can be performed when the alarm is triggered: automatic server shutdown, notification via e-mail/SMS/pager, etc.

The Environment Sensor is compatible with any UPS of the Pulsar series fitted with a Network Management Card.
