The HiPath Wireless Controller is a high-performance platform that provides centralized intelligence for the HiPath Wireless LAN (WLAN) solution. The HiPath Wireless Controller coordinates all Access Points in the network and provides features like virtualization and segmentation of access policy zones, advanced QoS prioritization options and high availability through the use of failover and load balancing redundant controllers. The flexible architecture of HiPath Wireless is ideally suited for implementing sophisticated mobility solutions and enabling the all wireless enterprise.
The C2400 controller supports HiPath Wireless AP's capability to bridge data on the local VLAN optimizing bandwidth and avoiding network congestion.
The C2400 is housed in rugged, modular enclosures. Additionally, the C2400 boasts greater scalability through the ability to software-upgrade the same Controller hardware from 100 to 200 APs.
The C2400 controller is able to translate WMM-prioritized traffic to existing QoS prioritization schemes on the wired network (TOS, DSCP, etc.). This capability enables end-to-end QoS policy.

The HiPath Wireless Controller allows you to create and manage unique Virtual Network Services (VNS) that enables you to group specific mobile users, devices and applications on the basis of policy class in order to provide unique levels of service, access permissions, encryption, and device authorization.
Authentication and encryption
The HiPath Wireless Controller and Wireless AP work together to support comprehensive authentication, encryption, and intrusion detection capabilities. A range of robust security features based upon the 802.11 and WPA2 standards ensure that your network stays protected.
The HiPath Wireless Controller allows you to configure Wireless APs to detect rogue access points on the network by scanning the radio frequency (RF) space at specific intervals. Scan results are then forwarded to the HiPath Wireless Controller; the HiPath Wireless Controller processes and presents the data centrally.
Automatic assignment of IP addresses to the client devices
The HiPath Wireless Controller has built-in DHCP server that assigns IP addresses to the client devices. The HiPath Wireless Controller is also capable of working with an external DHCP server.
