QuickLoop offers a cost-effective path for Fiber Channel private-loop devices in legacy environments to migrate to a fully scalable Fabric to be used for a Storage Area Network (SAN). It supports Fiber Channel Arbitrated Loop (FC-AL) devices with a Fabric. Best described as a capability to allow arbitrated loops to be attached to a fabric without modifying their drivers, private targets on the arbitrated loops can be accessed by public or private hosts elsewhere on the fabric. Also supports fabric assist zoning and enables operations between private initiators and public targets. The initiator and target can exist anywhere in the fabric. A public target remains public, with full fabric functionality.
