Since there are no rotating platters, moving heads, fragile actuators, or unnecessary delays due to spin-up time or positional seek time that can slow down the storage subsystem significantly, the Intel X25-M SATA SSD enables fast read/write access times and a significant I/O and throughput performance improvement as compared to rotating media or hard disk drives.
