The ConsoleServer 3200 is a high-performance alternative to terminal servers, delivering centralized management of serial command console ports through direct network access, multiple terminals, and via modem. The ConsoleServer 3200 is network and/or text terminal configurable to 32 devices and to 17 users (including optional modem card). To add to its scalability attached systems can be a variety of computers, UNIX servers, LAN/WAN components and management systems.

Operational efforts can be reduced with the ConsoleServer's remote dial-up and telnet access and management. This feature allows administrators to remotely access servers as if they were physically on site. In addition, the ConsoleServer 3200 offers functionality that terminal servers simply cannot provide with a 64k per port Audit Trail and a word-string ID (free flash upgrade). When equipment malfunctions, the Audit Trail and word-string ID allow for problem identification and diagnostics, ultimately reducing downtime.
