Secure Network Access (SNA) is Nortel's endpoint security and policy compliance solution designed to inspect, assess, ensure compliance to policy, and remediate at the network endpoint source, prior to network access.
Nortel's Secure Network Access solution controls network access by enabling only trusted and privileged access based on a user's identity and the security of their device helping enterprises to improve their overall network security. Nortel's Secure Network Access (SNA) framework delivers all the critical elements required to deliver a complete network access control solution; Unified Access Policy, Authentication and Posture Assessment, Authorization, Continuous Threat Analysis and Quarantine & Remediation.
Nortel's SNA solution dramatically simplifies access complexity by centrally managing and enforcing access policy for all enterprise user types. Nortel SNA protects customers investments by supporting open industry standards, Microsoft Network Access Protection and by supporting both Nortel and non-Nortel network environments.
Nortel's SNA unified access policy functions (user/device authentication and posture assessment) are delivered via the Nortel Secure Network Access Switch. The SNAS acts as a centralized "controller" that delivers unified access policy and admission control for wired, wireless and mobile users/devices. The SNAS is tightly integrated with network access elements such as Nortel Ethernet Switches (and 3rd party switches), WLAN controllers and VPN Gateways and VPN Routers to deliver flexible infrastructure enforcement options including both VLAN and/or access control list traffic filters.
Nortel's Secure Network Access provides another critical element to Nortel's overall Nortel's Layered Defense approach that fully compliments secure switching, firewall, VPN and Threat Protection solutions to offer an unprecedented level of security to customers.
