Notebook DriveDock v4 is a perfect solution for anyone who deals with bare 2.5" notebook drives. It quickly attaches drives via FireWire or USB. Dual FireWire ports allow daisy-chaining for more versatility. The FireWire bridge chip is the improved 911+ from Oxford Semiconductor, and it’s substantially faster than the older 911.

Generation 4 provides plenty of options. In addition to its bright color, it has power control features and multiple powering options. Notebook DriveDock supports bus powering over FireWire so you should never need to use an AC adapter. However, Notebook DriveDock also supports powering via AC Adapter or 4-pin molex in case bus power is unavailable. Because it’s based on the Oxford 911+ chipset, FireWire transfer rates are really fast.

Just connect the drive to the Dock, plug in power and attach a FireWire or USB cable to a host computer. That's all it takes. For more protection to the drive, a mounting plate is attached to the dock to protect the drive's circuitry.
