The ZyXEL Enterprise Network Center (ENC), a centralized network management platform for managing ZyXEL Ethernet switches and Enterprise WLAN access points, is a comprehensive network management tool that quickly and conveniently installs or manages IP networks. The ZyXEL ENC focuses on small to medium sized businesses that wish to monitor basic device health status, as well as to browse SNMP events, syslog events and network devices maps.
The ZyXEL ENC provides not only auto-discovery, hierarchical topology generation, SNMP MIB browser, event configuration/handling and performance monitoring features, but also advanced functions such as RMON monitoring, Port management and VLAN management for ZyXEL Ethernet switches. With the Web-based ENC network administrator, it is possible to get information anywhere and monitor network status to prevent communication failures.
Access anytime, anywhere
The ZyXEL ENC provides Web-based management tools for IT administrators to use monitor and manage the network conveniently without any limitation of time or location.
Ease-to-use dashboard and OTV tree
Dashboard presents the real-time state of critical events at a glance, and relates the state to the health of the underlying infrastructure to provide essential information for follow-up actions and services. Users can also customize their ENC dashboard screens with individual views based on their account privileges. The Object Tree View (OTV) shows the managed devices and networks on the current map, as well as details such as their network topology, up/down status and alarm status.
Intelligent resource management
The ZyXEL ENC uses SNMP, ICMP ping to provide powerful smart network discovery and topology. With intelligent auto-discovery, status polling and a database containing all the relevant information, the ZyXEL ENC can manage more than 1000 devices on the network.
Efficient group management and task scheduling
The ZyXEL ENC allows administrators to manage networks more efficiently. By choosing ZyXEL SME devices of the same type, the administrators can perform firmware upgrade, configuration restore and script (CLI) at once. It greatly reduces repetitive operations and helps the administrators to save time. The ENC can perform firmware upgrades, configuration updates and database backup/restore according to the time pre-scheduled by network administrators without their attendance.
Visual VLAN management
Traditionally, administrators need to switch between different devices to work on VLAN settings. It's not only a waste of time but is also prone to errors. The ENC visual VLAN setting provides a very easy and consistent interface to lower the risk of errors and to provide an overview of the VLAN topology.
The ZyXEL ENC supports in-depth correlation, real-time alarming and troubleshooting; it not only detects network problems including CPU and bandwidth utilization easily, but also sets customizable events as well as alarm and event filtering rules. A threshold can be set to generate alarms on any monitor to quickly alert the operators of any issues.
Offline RMON monitoring without burden
The RMON (Remote Monitoring) feature is used to collect and monitor the MIB data on remote devices. Through RMON threshold setting, switching devices can monitor the setting continuously and independently, and send out the preconfigured event/alarm once the monitored values are over/under the rising/falling threshold. This helps the administrators to take proactive actions before the network run into any trouble.
Customized report and report exportProduct Highlights
The ENC allows users to define parameters for their customized reports, and it also exports the report to CVS, PDF and HTML formats that customers can do further customization for special purposes; and the reports can be sent to the staff via email automatically or following a regular schedule.
