Canon CanoScan LiDE 100

This is simple, high-performance scanning at its best. Four easy buttons automate the entire process, and the new Auto Scan mode makes it even easier: It actually detects the type of original you're scanning - a photo, business card, notebook or form - automatically adjusts settings for the optimal results, then scans and saves the image.
Your results will amaze you, with color dpi resolution up to 2400 x 4800. You can also create fabulous 19200 x 19200 software-enhanced (extrapolated) scans. The Advanced Z-Lid enables clear, complete scans even of thick originals such as notebooks. Built-in retouching technology further enhances your final images with automatic corrections for dust and scratches, fading, graininess and backlighting. And to reduce the number of wires in your work area, one simple cable provides power and a USB 2.0 Hi-Speed connection.

Strengths: Reasonable image quality, works with Vista x64, inexpensive
Weaknesses: Not very fast, image quality a little dark
Summary: Purchased this scanner about a month ago, and it does the job. It works with 64-bit Windows Vista, which is a huge bonus. It has reasonable image quality for low-end usage, and is quite inexpensive.

Strengths: Great scan quality for the low cost.
Weaknesses: Software a bit glchy getting loaded.
Summary: A great scanner considering the cost. Replaced an
HP scanner 8 years old and the scan quality is
simply great. The provided software is a bit awkward in its function, but after playing around with it for 30 minutes anyone can learn its functions. For the cost is a winner.

Strengths: works extremely well for the money!
Weaknesses: none
Summary: We got this scanner to use in a remote assignment in Addis Ababa Ethiopia. Its made our office much more productive - giving us the ability to scan and return documents via email to the USA. Scan quality is great, the item is easy to use, and was easy to set up for every computer in the office. The USB connection allows us to "plug and play" whenever we need the device. Its also small and light enough to tote around when we are out of the office.
