Network connections are the backbone of business connections. Cisco Small Business RV016 Virtual Private Network (VPN) Router super-charges your connectivity, supporting up to 16 wired and 100 off-site connections. The latter allows users to connect to your network with secure access to your files and intranet.
The RV016 comes with dual Internet ports that can serve as a failsafe system for 24/7 network uptime or as a secondary connection to a separate Internet provider. In addition, up to five of the router's network ports can be reconfigured as such for a total of seven layers of redundancy and speed.

Strengths: Stable router, multi-wan works well
Weaknesses: Missing some detail-level features
Summary: I purchased this router to loadbalance 2 ADSLs while also routing all VOIP traffic through a dedicated SDSL connection.
I have read that in earlier firmwares there was trouble with many of the features like VPN and loadbalancing WANs on the same subnets.
However, using the latest firmware from Linksys I have had 0 problems.
It handles the 3 WAN interfaces great and has proved to be a stable router for 15 computers and 10 VOIP phones connecting through it.
The VPN via PPTP server is rock solid and allows you to use Windows and Mac's built in VPN clients. I have not tried the linksys proprietary IPSEC VPN function.
The only challenge I have had so far is that I have a need to use the IP Group WAN allocation feature to dedicate one WAN port to specific services, however when that feature is enabled, the protocol bind function on all other WAN ports is no longer available, as it is replaced with the IP Group configuration interface. Basically, if you use the IP Group function for one WAN port, to, say dedicate a DSL line for VOIP traffic and nothing else, you cannot also have 2 additional DSL lines loadbalancing other stuff AND make sure all HTTPS traffic goes through only one of the loadbalanced DSL lines (you would need the protocol bind feature and the IP Group feature at the same time).

Strengths: Redundant Internet connections and VPN gateway to gateway.
Weaknesses: None for me.
Summary: I have setup three of these, two of which are connected via tunnel to remote offices which works great. And I was able to apply the firewall settings I wanted.
