D-Link, a leading provider of wired and wireless IP Cameras, introduces a new member of the Securicam Network family of Internet Cameras: the DCS-6620G Wireless G 10x Optical Zoom Internet Camera. Featuring dual codec support, a 10x optical zoom lens, 802.11g wireless connectivity, built-in microphone, and low-light sensitivity, the DCS-6620G is the ultimate remote monitoring solution for your security needs.
The DCS-6620G Internet Camera features motorized pan, tilt, and optical/digital zoom, giving you greater remote viewing options. With a 10x optical zoom auto focus/auto iris lens, get greater clarity from your recordings than digital zoom alone. The 10x optical zoom lens delivers the level of detail necessary to identify people, license plate numbers, and other important details that are difficult to clearly view with digital zoom.
With support for both Motion JPEG and MPEG-4 recording, the DCS-6620G is well suited for various recording scenarios. Motion JPEG delivers greater file integrity, making it ideal for critical monitoring situations. MPEG-4 video has smaller file sizes, making it more useful for extended recording periods or for use in low bandwidth networks.
The DCS-6620G Internet Camera also utilizes D-Link's 2-Way Audio feature with its built-in microphone. Attach a speaker to the DCS-6620G and remotely communicate with subjects near the camera. An ideal location to use the 2-Way Audio feature includes point-of-entry areas, where you might want to identify a person before granting access.
With the ability to record video in low light settings, the DCS-6620G can provide exceptional nighttime surveillance. Extreme low light sensitivity of .05 Lux enables recording in near total darkness.
You can remotely monitor your camera using a web-based interface, or through D-Link's IP surveillance software. The web-based interface lets up to 10 simultaneous users to view the live feed from the camera. Using the feature-rich IP surveillance program, monitor and manage up to 16 cameras, set recording schedules, configure motion detection settings, and change settings to multiple cameras.
Featuring 802.11g wireless connectivity, the DCS-6620G offers greater installation flexibility. Using the freedom of wireless connectivity, install your DCS-6620G in locations without the hassle of running Ethernet cables. The DCS-6620G supports WPA-PSK, TKIP, and WEP for establishing secure connections to your wireless network.
Enjoy greater peace of mind with high quality security solutions from the Securicam Network series of Internet Cameras. The DCS-6620G offers maximum versatility for all monitoring situations, making it the smart investment for your security needs.

Strengths: zoom, picture quality, remote viewing
Weaknesses: tech support
Summary: I own my own business and got hired by a client who needed people who knew how to work security cameras. I didnt think it would be that hard. They needed security cameras for a national card game held 3x a year in different places all the time. They wanted us to watch or catch possible cheaters or disprove a cheater. I started out with 4 cameras. It was amazing. Loved how it could really zoom from far away and the picture quality. I could read people's suits in their cards from 100 feet away. But when I upgraded to 8 cameras,it started to become a problem.Using the DVIEW CAM program,8 cameras started to freeze or cut out.I was also using a dlink DIR 450 router and had a sprint air card attached to it(since it is what they recommended to use with these cameras)but what they failed to mention is that the more cameras you have, the more problems you will have too.The sprint air card(and any other aircard you buy)only provides a limited bandwidth. And to divide that to 8 cameras will really decrease it a lot which will then give you an unstable connection. The only way for me to solve this is to have a solid internet connection like comcast internet. But since I am always mobile with this system,I cant do that.I wish I knew that before I spent 4 additional cameras. Now I have to buy another router and air card and laptop to split 8 cameras into 2. Their tech support will take you hours. When you first call, you will be helped by a novice and if they cant help you, will transfer you to a higher level tech support, and if they cant help you wil transfer you to another higher level tech. They are quick to say that a product is defective even if it isnt. So you want to be sure you did everything you can. I know more about these cameras than I want to know. I had to change settings for the cameras, the router, ports, static IP's and everything technical. Also, make sure the computer you use is a 32-bit operating system because this is NOT compatible with 64 bit. Anything more than 3GB RAM will be 64 bit.

Strengths: 10x optical zoom
Weaknesses: ?
Summary: The D-link DCS-6620G is a very capable camera at a very competitive price. This is D-Link's best wireless camera. The pan, tilt and zoom functions mean you can replace several fixed position cameras. The 10x optical zoom is vastly superior to the digital zoom offered on the lower priced cameras. The 2 way audio is a nice feature too. A must buy.

Strengths: zoom is amazing
Weaknesses: frame rate slow, but maybe it was the wireless
Summary: Truly amazing camera. We wanted a "conference room cam" that would allow folks to read the whiteboard. Hard to do w/o an optical zoom. This thing is amazing, we were able to read someone's wall calendar through an open door!
The audio is surprisingly good as well.

Strengths: with the .05 lux does really well in very low light conditions. The 10x zoom is great. the Dcs-6620G has a lot more features than the DCS-5530.
Weaknesses: The wireless g feature is crap do not use it at all make sure you can plug in a network cord
Summary: I would highly recommend this camera esp with the outdoor encloser. Great optical zoom can read credit card number from 20 feet away. can see in almost no light. the only bad thing is the wireless feature does not seam that usefull
