D-Link DUB H7
Mfg Part #: DUB-H7

|
The DUB-H7 is a 7-port Universal Serial Bus USB 2.0 hub that allows you to connect up to 7 USB 2.0 peripherals and devices to your USB 2.0 ready PC or iMac. Providing an out of the box industry standard bus, this pocket-sized device expands your PC and Mac by adding 7 USB 2.0 ports to your system.
A single Type B upstream port is provided to connect to the host computer, or another USB hub. Configured directly by the operating system, the DUB-H7 operates seamlessly with both Microsoft's OpenHCI, Intel's Universal HCI and USB 2.0 new generation specification EHCI. As a standard USB hub, it buffers USB data from any attached peripherals or devices in compliance with USB specification versions 1.1 and 2.0 to provide an invisible extension of the USB bus. Supporting both low-speed 1.5Mbps devices, full-speed 12Mbps devices and high-speed 480Mbps, each port creates a bridge between the peripheral and host computer.

Strengths: A very reliable product
Weaknesses: none
Summary: I been purchasing D-Link products for years. I've tried others and have had problems.
They make a solid reliable product that doesn't fail within a few months.
I highly recommend them.

Strengths: Provides seven USB 2.0 ports, all with an external power source.
Weaknesses: None that I've experienced.
Summary: This product does everything that it is supposed to do. It works as advertised and is reasonably priced. If you need a few extra powered USB 2.0 ports, then this is the one for you.

Strengths: You can use any USB A to B cable with this unit. It can power any device that draws it's power from the USB port.
Weaknesses: The AC to DC power supply is a bit large and requires an over-sized plug-in. However this is not unusual for AC to DC converters.
Summary: I would readily recommend this USB hub to anyone. It's the best I've ever owned. This one makes the fourth one that I have purchased for myself and a friend.

Strengths: Compact, small footprint - "out of the way".
Weaknesses: Relates to Strengths - physically close connections.
Summary: So leave USB cable connected to Hub, connect other end to device if frequently removed - such as digital camera or flash drive.
