Weaknesses: If you have a very long receipt with LOTS of items, it will not scan it. I had a lumber receipt that wouldn't scan because of the length. Price...it is relatively expensive, but then you get what you pay for!

Summary: I am very satisfied with this scanner. I went through two years worth of receipts very quickly and with few problems. If a receipt does stick, it is very easy to remove and do again. I would purchase it again in a second.

Summary: I saw an ad for this is an email, and I realized it was just what I needed. I already had an HP Allin1 Photosmart 6180 scanner/printer/fax/copier. I was dissatisfied with this device, however, because the scanning was terribly slow and it frequently pulled in multiple pages, which caused jams and messed up my scan job. Plus, my HP Photosmart printer could only scan one side at a time. The Fujitsu Scansnap S300 is FAST. It scans both sides of a document in one pass, and just as quickly as a one-sided document. There is a setting for one-sided scanning only, which I recommend for this type of scanning, because it tends to pick up blank pages that inkjet ink has bled through. There are other configurable options, such as auto color detection, image quality (for your output), paper size or auto detection. You can even configure the Scansnap to scan mixed paper sizes! The Scansnap comes with CardIris, an application that optically reads business cards and inputs the information into a file for you. I haven?t used this yet. This is an amazing device and has saved me hours already, and I?ve had it less than a month. I?m a realtor, so have lots of documents to scan when I?m working on a contract. If you need a document scanner ? and a portable one at that, because this baby is compact ? this fills the bill. You may still need a flatbed scanner for photos and fragile things, such as old newspaper clippings, so recognize this for what it is: a superb, versatile and fast document scanner at a great price!
