Tyranny83

Strengths: Large screen, fast processing/retrieval, SD and CF slots, built-in WiFi, lots of memory.

Weaknesses: Can't go from "off" straight to calendar, contacts, or memo from a button like you can on a Palm.

Summary: I recently switched from many years of Palm PDA ownership over to a Windows Mobile OS so that it would be easier to use Word and Excel documents. This unit does everything I want, including running Skyscape medical reference software, and being able to seamlessly use Outlook and MS Office Mobile (it also has PowerPoint). My husband has a wonderful Dell Axim X51v, but this ipaq 210 outperforms it. It also has a much bigger screen than the Axim, but it weighs less than an ounce more. Needless to say, he's very jealous (and his Axim is starting to have some problems), so I'm ordering another ipaq 210 for him today. Big screen is very important to me, and this ipaq is very easily readable, even with tables and charts. I am very pleased, no complaints at all. Applications run quickly, very impressive. Good battery life, too, and the battery is replaceable (unlike my beloved Zire 72 that has to stay plugged in now). I haven't done a lot on the internet with it yet, but the web pages I accessed were easy to read and navigate, with full photos and graphics, etc. This is clearly the best PDA I have ever owned.

Terry

Strengths: small, auto backlighting, long battery life

Summary: It's small enough to fit in my pocket, allowing me to be on the go without having to worry about lugging around a bulky laptop case. It allows me to keep my contact information somewhere I won't lose it. The backlighting is great. Only direct sunlight makes it hard to see. Even then, I only have to shade the screen for it to be visible outside. The battery not only last a long time, it was easy to install. The one column feature on the internet lets me surf the web without having to worry about not seeing the whole page or scroll from side to side to get everything. Overall, worth what I paid for.

Strengths: The iPaq 210 has a nice color screen and lots of memory for a handheld. It works ok for Email.

Weaknesses: The wireless capability to search the internet was disappointing. It was difficult to get working and HP support was not much help. I found on line forums more useful. It is not useful for surfing the web. Also not able to synchronize calender, contacts etc. without buying microsoft outlook or downloading something else similar.

Summary: I am a physician and bought this to replace a Palm Tungsten T specifically to run Epocrates software which it does well. It has more memory capability than the old Palm and I didn't want to use a tiny screen like the Palm Treo smartphone has. The color screen is nice. I can run my old Palm programs using a StyleTap program(costs $50) which is a nice way to transition if you are used to Palm programs.Don't count on this to do useful web searches its way too slow and limited in content for that.

Strengths: Fast, clear display. Explorer uses high res display (nice). High speed wireless is nice.

Weaknesses: Can't set alarms for saturdays. Not all programs use high res display. No javascript for explorer Some applications which like to use the re-programmed buttons at the bottom of the display don't work as some of the buttons don't reporgram well (like the go button).

Summary: This pda is an improvement over my Dell x50v. I didn't like wince 5 as well as wince 2003, but wince 6 works quite well. The extra memory is very nice.
