Lenovo 90W Slim AC/DC Combo Adapter

Mfg Part #: 41N8460

Lenovo 90W Slim AC/DC Combo Adapter

The ThinkPad and Lenovo 90W Slim AC/DC Combo Adapter supplies power to your notebook and simultaneously recharges the system battery whenever it is plugged into a standard ac wall outlet or the dc outlets available in airplanes and automobiles. This adapter gives you the flexibility to use your ThinkPad or Lenovo Value Line notebook longer and in more places. It is Lenovo's thinnest power adapter yet, so it tucks easily into your carrying case for travel.

Make this adapter the only one you take on the road. No need to carry a bag full of chargers when you can use the AC/DC Combo Adapter to power your notebook, cell phone, and PDA. An optional dual charging cable allows you to attach the adapter to both your notebook and a peripheral device simultaneously. Select from a range of optional peripheral charging tips compatible with most popular cell phones and other devices.

Strengths: Does the job for AC and DC powering of the laptop

Weaknesses: End of DC connector falls off constantly, generates a huge load of Radio Frequency interference. Kills radio reception.

Summary: Really, just so-so. I'd expect Lenovo to do a better job at RFI/EMI control.

Weaknesses: it gets hot.

Strengths: compact

Weaknesses: none

Summary: This compact power supply enables you to charge your laptop while on the road and also serves as a nice AC power supply to keep in your laptop bag at all times. It comes with it's own little case which is another big plus for portability

Strengths: Fairly compact design Nice Carrying Case Airline Adapter works great

Weaknesses: The chord length to adapter is rather short. An additional 12 inches in length would help.

Summary: This is meant for those who travel often. If you need a LONG chord then this is not for you. Overall a nice compact power adapter. Highly recommend.

Strengths: AC/DC power inputs. Option for multiple tips

Weaknesses: Overall size and weight.

Summary: I was looking for another power adapter for my Lenovo laptop so I could leave the power supply with my docking station. I was attracted by the AC/DC input and slim design of the brick - thinking it might fit better in my computer bag. When I got the box in the mail (very promptly), I thought it was perhaps lined with lead. Unfortunately, the box only weighed 3oz and all of the weight was the power adapter. The DC cord is heavy, the brick is heavy, the cord to the computer is heavy. It now serves as my (expensive) docking station power supply and I travel with the original brick. I will never the use the DC cord.

Strengths: Outstanding product when it works. Small form factor makes it easy to carry, even in the smallest laptop case.

Weaknesses: Questionable durability. This is my second one. The first one lasted a year before developing a dead short and would blow a fuse as soon as it was plugged in to DC. I have had my second one 1 month and now it has a short near the end that plugs into the laptop. Sometimes it charges and sometimes it does not. But Lenovo was quick to replace my latest one.

Summary: Great product but questionable durability. However great customer support from Lenovo makes it a winner.

Strengths: very thin construction--fits nicely in thin bag

Weaknesses: cord connecting to laptop is a little thick

Summary: good product to carry in travel bag--does both AC and DC (car and airplane adapters included)--convenient not to have to unplug and carry the normal AC adapter

Strengths: Power adapter is slim as advertised

Weaknesses: DC power cord thickness and length, Plug adapter length

Summary: While the adapter itself is thin, the length and width are proportionately larger, which I don't mind. However the attached DC power cord that plugs into the computer, is much thicker than the one that comes with the standard power supply. I prefer the standard supply's cord because it is longer and can be wound up much smaller than the slim adapter's cord. Also, although it is nice to have interchangeable tips, the length of the tip with the adapter attached is fairly long, so it sticks out of the back of the computer too much.
