Linksys WRT54G3G Wireless-G Router for 3G/UMTS
Mfg Part #: WRT54G3G-AT

The Linksys Wireless-G Router for 3G/UMTS Broadband is really three devices in one box. First, there's the Wireless Access Point, which lets you connect both screaming fast Wireless-G (802.11g at 54Mbps) and Wireless-B (802.11b at 11Mbps) devices to the network. There's also a built-in 4-port full-duplex 10/100 Switch to connect your wired-Ethernet devices together. Connect four PCs directly, or attach more hubs and switches to create as big a network as you need. The Router function ties it all together and lets your whole network share a 3G/UMTS or GPRS Internet connection (requires Vodafone Mobile Connect 3G/UMTS data card, available separately). You can also use a standard Ethernet attached Internet connection, like a cable or DSL modem, if available.
Once your computers are connected to the Router and the Internet, they can communicate with each other too, sharing document files, a printer, storage space, and other resources.
To protect your data and privacy, the Wireless-G Router for 3G/UMTS Broadband can encode all wireless LAN transmissions with WEP or industrial-strength WPA Personal encryption. The Router can serve as a DHCP Server, has a powerful SPI firewall to protect your PCs against intruders and most known Internet attacks, and supports VPN pass-through. Configuration is a snap with the web browser-based configuration utility.
With the Wireless-G Router for 3G/UMTS Broadband, you can create a secure wireless network with Internet connectivity, anywhere that 3G/UMTS or GPRS service is available.

Strengths: No problem, router works as specified with the proper Air Card.
Weaknesses: I havent been able to setup the box as a private router. After completing the procedures, it will not keep my set up. I'm using the "Setup Disk" came with package.
Summary: Works EXCELLENT right out of the box. Need to check with Cisco/Linksys about the router setup as a private/limited steps so no one acces my signal.

Strengths: Easy set up (I have the WRT54G3G-AT version)
Works around the world (with unlocked Sierra 875 wireless card)
Weaknesses: Only supports the Sierra Wireless 875 card
Summary: I live in a new development where broadband access is not available via cable or DSL. This product is a lifesaver, allowing me to use the datacard and still have wireless networking in my house. I can share one data card amongst multiple PC's and laptops. I was also able to run my Voicewing VOIP phone through this. A very innovative product.

Strengths: Ease of use to hook up. Plug the Aircard in and you are up and running with your own little mobile internet system. It goes where you go. The other options are typical Linksys router settings and are flexible and easy. Also, easy to configure with other routers.
Weaknesses: Wireless signal is weak. This router was placed less than 15' from a high speed Netgear wireless dongle and it was connecting at 36Mbps. I got it up to 54Mbps once by literally plugging in the router next to the PC. Linksys had no answers for this. The price is out of this world too expensive. At&T does not support this router although it was made specifically for their aircards.
Summary: I would not recommend this router unless you had no other choices. There are other Aircard ready routers that offer the same if not better wireless performance for over a hundred dollars less. I just did not know about them at the time.
