Strengths: good voice

Weaknesses: hard to setup for what we need it for

Summary: I like the product. We sell phone systems and teh gig network speed is good and we can dedicate voice packets but its a pain dealing with the netgear people so far. They are slow

Weaknesses: Large cabinet for the switch.

Summary: Installation CD was worthless. Easy to install with P & P. Would purchase again.

Great Gigabit Switch For Cost

Strengths: Inexpensive, good performance, and reliable.

Weaknesses: Perhaps not as manageable as some of the more expensive switches. Advanced management is probably unnecessary for smaller organizations.

Summary: If you are looking for an inexpensive but quality Gigabit Ethernet switch for your small business, this switch is for you. I have setup two similar switches and things are still running smoothly.

Strengths: Plug in replacement for slower Netgear FS series switches. Works with CAT5e wiring.

Weaknesses: None

Summary: Great replacement for Netgear FS series unmanaged switches. Allows for web based management if you want.

Rakota Systems

Strengths: very fast, inexpensive, many ports

Weaknesses: none that I've found

Summary: This is a very nice addition to any network. With the prices of gigabit ports nearing what 100 Mb ports were just a few years ago, I can see no reason to ever buy 100 Mb switches ever again.

Strengths: Easy to manage. Good menu system, plug and play if you need it.

Weaknesses: Tends to need a reset every week or so

Summary: Decent switch for the price. Nice features, 2 GBIC slots for upgrading. Really easy management interface for not to bad management options. Basic management includes performance monitoring, port configuration, VLAN for traffic control, port trunking for increased bandwidth, and Class of Service (CoS) for traffic prioritization.
