Strengths: The hardware is compact, lightweight, and does a great job scanning (good paper handling, resolution, color).
Weaknesses: PaperPort software is REALLY SLOW.
Summary: Scanning direct to file is relatively quick, averaging about 16 seconds per page in B&W @ 300 dpi, about 30s per page for color. But if you want to scan into the PaperPort software to manipulate the scan in any way, it takes nearly a minute per page to scan and display! Functions such as auto crop and straighten are also maddeningly slow. Fortunately, the scanner feed mechanism handles paper quite well and it feeds straight with reasonable care.
If sheets are fed into the scanner too quickly the software crashes, necessitating unplugging the scanner from the usb port and then plugging it back in... A minor annoyance. With practice you will learn how fast to feed pages.
The OCR software does an accurate job, but, again, is slow.
Overall: a functional product, but software needs improvement.
